JOSEPHINE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

I grew up in Rogue River, Oregon and went to the University of Oregon for both undergrad and law school.  I initially went to law school with plans to practice environmental law, but after clerking with Judge Panner and Judge Clarke in US District Court for District of Oregon and clerking the Oregon Department of Justice’s Criminal and Collateral Remedies Division, I knew I wanted to practice criminal law.

After law school, I wanted to return to Southern Oregon and ended up as a DDA in Curry County for just under a year.  In 2015, I was hired as a DDA in Josephine County and have been here ever since.  During that time, I was assigned to our drug team (RADE) and earned the Oregon Narcotic’s Enforcement Association’s “prosecutor of the year” award.   In 2019, I was appointed as DA and have been in that role since.  Given our county’s funding and staffing levels, throughout my tenure as DA, I handle a full caseload of various case types—including homicides, drug cases, embezzlement, sex offense, and whatever else the Office needs.

In addition to handling a full case load, I help in the legislature (HB 3000 Task Force, HB 4002, CJC Grant Review Committee) am on the ONEA Board, ODAA Board, Southern Oregon Head Start Board, and am currently coaching T-Ball for my kid’s team.

I feel very fortunate to have a career doing the right thing daily in the place I call home.  In our off time, we raft the Rogue, fish, camp, and spend as much time outdoors as possible.
