RYAN JOSLIN, DA
BENTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

ABOUT RYAN JOSLIN

Following his election in May 2024, Ryan took office as Benton County District Attorney on September 1, 2024. He now leads an office of 30 Deputy District Attorneys, Victim Advocates, Paralegals, Criminal Media Legal Assistants, and interns, prosecuting criminal and juvenile cases by seeking justice through the truth.
Born and raised in the Willamette Valley, Ryan graduated from Central High School in Independence, Oregon in 1987. After high school he spent two years as a missionary in Japan, where he became fluent in Japanese.
Following his return to the states, he began his undergraduate work at Western Oregon State College. It was during this time that he met his future wife, and with her began raising a young family of what would become six children. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon in 1994, and followed this with a law degree at the same university in 1997.
After sitting for the Oregon State Bar, he started his own law practice in Eugene, which he worked for three years. He and his wife then moved to Eastern Oregon to raise their young family on the ranch where she had grown up. For the next six years, Ryan continued to work in private practice.
In May of 2006, Ryan was elected as the Grant County District Attorney, where he served honorably for eight years. In 2015, Ryan moved to Corvallis with his family, and served as Benton County’s Chief Deputy District Attorney for about ten years, prior to his election as Benton County District Attorney.
Ryan enjoys building houses, woodworking, volunteering in the community, and spending time with his six grandchildren and their amazing grandmother.

“It is my great honor to serve the people of Benton County. I look forward to continuing to do the work of seeking justice through the truth, advocating for victims who have been wronged, and working to keep Benton County a safe and enjoyable place to work, study, recreate and live.”
